The film follows the Liebling family over three years, focusing on Lior, a 13-year-old boy with high-functioning Down's Syndrome who has a special connection with God, and is considered a spiritual leader by some. His father is a rabbi, as was his mother (she passed away in 1997 from breast cancer), but even so, Lior has an extraordinary devotion to God and his beliefs. The film chronicles Lior's interactions with God, his family, and community, ultimately culminating in his Bar Mitzvah. Filmmaker Ilana Trachtman shows how Lior's condition and his commitment to God affect his family, especially his siblings, and attempts to give the audience a view not only into Lior's world, but the world of his family as well.
