Bogie won his only Oscar as Charlie Allnutt, a scruffy steamboat cap'n who has to whisk a prim missionary (Hepburn) up the Congo River in the early days of World War I before the Germans catch up with them. The pair's adventures, from dodging artillery to fending off leeches, are almost as thrilling as the comic banter and frisky romantic chemistry. Cash bar and complimentary snacks provided.
