This program features: Sprinkling the Cactus (2004, mini-DV, 7 mins), directed by Kakyoung Lee, in which stark charcoal animation breathes a somber life into Lee's subjects, victims of the impersonality of city life; Confessions of a Sociopath (2002, mini-DV, 40 mins), directed by Joe Gibbons, a self-examination of serpentine neuroses, a semi-fictionalized autobiography drawing on over twenty-five years of home movies and experiments in identity, resulting in a simultaneously hilarious and painful portrait of the need to characterize oneself; and Every Piece I Didn't Finish (2001–06, mini-DV, 7 mins), directed by Neil Goldberg, an excerpt from a longer piece, this work exhibits Goldberg's dry wit and knack for candid introspection as he comments on a series of clips shot while in residence at the MacDowell Colony. A rare glimpse into the humor and challenges of the artist's "process."
